More Than Just Food
Windy N Ranch is about more than just food. It’s about family, responsibility, sustainability, transparency and compassion. We care about the health of our animals, community and environment and are wholeheartedly committed to providing a clean, healthy and ethically raised alternative to factory farmed meats and eggs.
Animal Welfare & Regenerative Farming
Our pastures are Certified Organic and we have more species certified under Animal Welfare Approved than any other ranch in the country. We practice regenerative farming techniques, such as rotational grazing and no till seed drilling, to maintain bio-diversity and ensure that these lands will stay healthy for generations to come.
Truly Grass Fed & Finished Beef
Our cattle, sheep and goats spend their days roaming on open pasture munching the Kittitas valley’s world renowned pasture grasses. They eat grass and only grass from weaning to finish. That means no grain, ever. Pigs and poultry, which require additional food sources are also pasture-raised, but have access to a corn-free, soy-free organic, non GMO blend of dried peas and barley that we grind in our own hammer mill.
Closed Herd
Windy N Ranch is a closed system, which means that all breeding is done naturally right here on the ranch. We do not artificially inseminate; we simply let nature take its course, but do our best to release the bulls, billies and rams during a time that results in late spring birthing, when the outside temps are not too cold for the new babes.
USDA & WSDA: Get a Little or a Lot
We offer both USDA cuts and WSDA shares, each offering different benefits to our customers. All of our meats are cut and wrapped right here in our on-site butcher shop; however, USDA meats are harvested off-site, while WSDA meats are harvested here. USDA cuts give you a chance to sample a little of everything or stock up with bundles and value boxes. WSDA shares are an economical way to stock up and save when you purchase a whole, half, quarter or eighth share.
